- 2Select the bestSort differentials and keep the lowest 2 of 5
- 3Average themavg = 7.7
- 4Bonus for excellence7.7 × 0.96 = 7.39 → rounded to 7.4
Score differentials
Simplified WHS 2020 method: best-N table applied to the rounds entered, × 0.96, rounded to one decimal. The official system also uses Playing Condition Calculations, an 8-of-last-20 window and posting rules — a full index needs at least 54 holes of acceptable scores.

Formula
Differential = 113 ÷ Slope × (Score − Course Rating) · Index = 0.96 × average(best N differentials)
Pro tips
- • Use your adjusted gross score (net double bogey cap), not the raw scorecard total.
- • Slope 113 is the standard-difficulty reference — tougher tees push differentials up.
